Blog EntryWhat to believe!Mar 15, '07 9:41 PM
for everyone

do not believe a thing simply because it has been said.
do not put your faith in traditions only because they have been honoured for many generations.
do not believe a thing because the general opinion believes it to be true or because it has been said repeatedly.
do not believe a thing because the probabilities are in its favour, or because you are in the habit of beliveing it to be true.
do not believe in that which comes to your imagination, thinking that it must be the revelation of a superior being.
believe nothing that binds you to the sole authority of your masters or priests.
that what you have tried yourself, which you have experienced, which you have recognised as true, and which will be beneficial to you and to others; believe that, and shape your conduct to it.

But sometimes beliefs make a person stronger.
It might be an added strength to bring a person away from denial and despair.
Or even brings out the best in you.
The presence of beliefs allow you to relate to your present and future community - which the general termed as culture.
Identity and self-worthiness are formed when you belong and believe.
However that does not means conformity.

The right balance is a necessity for a better global community. I guess we have enough of extremists who truly believe in themselves and shape their conduct towards it.

Hmmm..gosh am i writing my exam papers now..haha

You are right. And this is a choice.

Just note that you are talking about something that is already there. that the beliefs has already manifested. and then to grow for there, from that innercore.
Whilst i am reckoning about reaching the beliefs from nothing... How to reach that focused beliefs that is constantly changing (continuity that is ethernal with life)? Simply because your pirority in life now will differ later. There is no firm belief that is universal. :)
